Vesikalı Yarim

Halil, a married greengrocer with a child who commutes from home to work and from work to home, goes to a pavilion with his friends one day for a change in his monotonous life. In the pavilion, he meets Sabiha, one of the women working there. Halil falls in love with Sabiha and Sabiha falls in love with Halil. But Halil hides from Sabiha that he is married. While Sabiha makes future plans for Halil, she is upset when she learns the truth. She has no choice but to alienate Halil, as she cannot afford the destruction of his home.

This black-and-white melodrama, adapted from the story "Violet Valley" by Sait Faik Abasıyanık, one of the most important names of our literature, is among the milestones of Yeşilçam cinema. The film was directed by Lütfi Ömer Akad from a screenplay by Safa Önal and starred Türkan Şoray, İzzet Günay and Ayfer Feray.
