Vitalina receives news of the death of her husband, who left for Lisbon to work 25 years ago and whom she has not seen since. Although she wants to attend his funeral, Vitalina arrives in Lisbon only three days after the funeral and wanders the deserted streets in order to understand her husband's life without her. Vitalina goes to the house where her husband lived and searches for traces of the past in unfamiliar objects and places, all the while struggling to survive.
