Deaf Ángela is expecting a child with her hearing partner Héctor. As time passes, Ángela's fears about motherhood grow, and after the birth of their daughter, she struggles to fulfill the maternal role in a society that is not adapted to people with hearing impairments.
Touching and powerful drama by Eva Libertad is a semi-autobiographical story of the actress Miriam Garlo. Using Spanish Sign Language and special sound effects, the film authentically portrays the challenges of a deaf woman raising a child in a world she feels she does not belong to. It premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, in Panorama section, and won the Audience Award for Best Film.
