In Skopje during the disintegration of Yugoslavia, Salih, who witnesses the events in his 500-year-old house, does his best to resist the increasing change and individualization in his neighborhood. However, the balance is upset when his childhood friend Elina, with whom he grew up in the same neighborhood, returns to the city as a representative of an NGO. As the growing unrest opens the door to a dark period in which neighbors turn against each other, Salih finds himself in a great struggle with both his childhood love and the forces behind her.
