The writer Husrev is dragged into the tragedy he is writing. As in his play, he unintentionally commits a murder and the boundary between reality and fiction is erased. The conflict between art and life, fate and free will deepens. Will his inquiries about death, God, guilt and existence lead him to suicide in the shade of a fig tree like his father, or will he lose his mind?
